The student knows that the parents have earned the donation amount from unethical means. Here the child will never see his/her education as man-making or character-building. The main aim of the student will be to regain the donation amount as soon as possible and thereafter, make huge profit, even if it entails him to make use agents for getting patients. Now a day, many nursing homes have engaged agents for different areas to collect patients. Even the agents send not so ill persons to them.

The cost of a seat in engineering college vary from 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs where as a seat in medical college requires not less than 25 lakhs. There are some good parents who earn both and sacrifice their entire savings for donations or by selling ancestral land, but in most cases such donations are financed by bribery. Here education stands on the edifice of corruption.

The main impediment on the way towards assimilation of life making , character building and man making education is greed assimilated in the personality of the child itself from the very beginning of education. Every now and then the parents use to say before the child that ‘look ,you have to secure good rank in school education as well as in entrance examination for IIT,PMT,NIT,IIM etc examinations. You must work very hard to score 99.9 percentile in all these so that your seat is secured .

Education should aim at the development of the entire personality of man. He further said: ‘if you have assimilated five ideas and made them your life and character, you have more education than any man who has got by heart a whole library.’

Swami Vivekananda, who spoke about the defects of modern education as bundles of negations, observed: The education that you are getting now has some good points, but it has disadvantages so heavy that all good things are weighed down. Your modern education is not man making education. “We must have life-building, man- making & character-making assimilation of ideas as education.”

9) Emphasis should be given to sports as now envisioned by many. But if all the curricular load is kept intact and sports is added as another subject then the burdening will be more and harmful.

7)Students in all schools should face equal load. 8) There should be one school board for the entire country with equal syllabus. The present syllabus in CBSE should be the benchmark for all with at least 30% of curricular load slashed. The student up to higher secondary should not run from one coaching centre to another. Rather entrance test questions should be set in such a way that a weak student can answer at least 70% of them easily.

5) Stress due to too many languages is harmful. Learning extra languages should be voluntary and not mandatory . Language should not contribute towards the overall performance in mark sheet. 6) More importance should be given to English language in 21st century as it the international language and language of science.

4) Burdening the mind with a lot of information through huge curricular load is detrimental to acquisition of wisdom. A golden mean in real standard in education must be found through consensus arrived at by various seminars and symposia.
