Tiruneveli, the beautiful river- city situated in the southern part of Tamil Nadu is among the 100 cities shortlisted to participate in Smart City Challenge. The City Corporation requests all those who consider Tiruneveli as their home and are interested in its development to join us in this journey to make Tiruneveli a smart(er) city by providing us with your valuable suggestions on areas demanding improvement and potential solutions. The areas of improvement may focus on civic services such as water supply, parks, transportation, sanitation, energy, housing or any other sector that you wish to see improvement in your Smart City.

#Tirunelveli The book exhibition (book festival) could be conducted every year on the same month in Tirunelveli.It is becoming difficult to track the book festival if the month differs.So we are not sure that the book festival happened in 2013 and 2014 (in V.O.C ground) are happening or happened this year

##Tirunelveli Small park could be built near the ancient Nellaiyappar Kanthimathi amman temple as in Madurai Meenakshi amman temple. So that it would be helpful to the outside travelers in case if they reach the temple at the closing timing

Along with development of old cities into a smart city there is also the need of hours to develop and adopt a model code for development of new cities Pan India for continuous pace of Smart Development.

The Tiruneveli city lirequires to ensure basic infrastructure services to enable a decent quality of life in urban pockets and a clean and sustainable environment and adoption of smart solutions and providing more public spaces to poor. It may be implemented through areas based approach consisting of retrofitting, re-development, pan city initiatives. There is also need of hours to develop and adopt a model code for development of new cities Pan India for continuous pace of Smart Development.
