The Department of Telecommunications had requested the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to furnish its recommendations on ‘Spectrum uses charging for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and floor level of AGR based on amount of spectrum held by Commercial VSAT operators’ under section 11(1) of TRAI Act, 1997 as amended.

In this context, TRAI has prepared a consultation paper raising specific issues viz. rates of spectrum usage charges (SUC) based on adjusted gross revenue (AGR) for ISP licensee, minimum AGR for ISP licensee and VSAT licensee, allied issues like schedule of payment, charging of interest, penalty and other related issues. The Consultation Paper on ‘Spectrum Usage Charges and Presumptive Adjusted Gross Revenue for Internet Service Providers and Commercial Very Small Aperture Terminal Service Providers’ has been released on 19th August 2016 for comments of stakeholders and also uploaded on TRAI’s website (www.trai.gov.in).

The written comments on the issues raised in the consultation paper are invited from stakeholders by 13th October, 2016 and counter comments by 27th October, 2016.

dear PM, telecom companies specially vodafone charging to much for data usage and also it is consumed very fastly. please understand the need of young generation and make telecom companies to reduce data charges.

Net neutrality is and should be an Indians'right. India,as we love to say is a free nation (which I sincerely doubt) must tag-along the other progressing nation in making this backlogging nation a digitally prominent one where all sorts of digital rights and everything on the internet present (updated) should be accessible to all without any kind of prejudice.

Abolish 2G which is pathetic. Compulsory introduce 4G for speed & Better Connectivity. Data must be made free to strengthen Digital India

The Govt is expected to take steps to enact "Right to internet" . It is a basic requirement for digital India. In normal course browsing on 2G is pathetic and rates of 3G/4G Data of all the ISPs are very high considering ordinary population
