Department of Telecommunications through its reference dated 10th August 2017 has communicated that there is a proposal to introduce In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) for voice, data and video services over Indian airspace for domestic, international and overflying flights in Indian Air Space. DoT has also requested TRAI to furnish its recommendations on licensing terms and conditions for provision of IFC for voice, data and video services and associated issues such as entry fee, license fee, spectrum related issues including usage charges and method of allocation and other conditions.

In this regard, a consultation paper has been floated on 29th September 2017 and has been placed here.

Last Date of submission of suggestions is 10th November, 2017.

it is noticed at airport,ground staff of airlines,needed some behavior guidelines,since most of recruitment is either temporary,or outsource,such only degree holder background of staff is not verified or trained basic human discipline suitable to job,indigo staff proving how dangerous they are,such mindset staff can be easily hired by traitor, to damage airport.

What I know is satellite communication is very expensive. Air to ground communications needs lots on infra on ground can be cheap as reuse possible for ground communications with minor modifications. Its a expensive business and the way existing airlines handles there customer I think it will not benefit customer neither airlines or operators.

The govt body can access answer to all questioned asks in paper. The first hand experience of questions being asked can be understood from experience of other country deployment and operation. This service is must and may be deciding factor on bookings by customer based on ifc in bear future. Reach out to aviation companies in India working for US aviation companies they have FAA certified boxes which can do what is been looked for. They can do delta certification for new satellite communication

So you can make a Whatsapp call from flight. Is this a hoax ? This must serve as Secure broadcast of Doordarshan Live TV and select tax free Movies broadcast only. It must not allow two way communication like "open internet".
