The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

our mining industry needs to be modernised & for that we require the correct platform & infrastructure - monetary, regulatory as well as personnel. specialised skills are required by all industries to produce quality produce at reasonable costs without wastage. mining institutes have to multiply. one for every 3 states rich in mining resources must be developed in quick time with knowledgeable faculty & industry panelists on frequent visits to share their expertise & experiences

our mining industry needs to be modernised & for that we require the correct platform & infrastructure - monetary, regulatory as well as personnel. some sacrifices are expected from the nation as well as from the industry itself. they cannot encroach upon anyone's territory, whether the environment, flora & fauna, nor tribes. i am sure with all the facilities & resources at their disposal, the industry & government can find suitable mining sites that do not infringe upon anything or anyone.

Whatever groups you have created on the right hand side of the screen lead to Basic Education... To think of having more then one child is now impossible.

Educational institutions exploit the student and the parents both. The worst form is the Girl Child that is also not safe. If we are looking at the Knowledgeable India, we need to start from the grassroots and believe me, you will have the blessing of the common man... we the Indians... Please... Help.

The previous Govt made education compulsory, but we need to make it affordable and efficient and market-worthy. I interact with people of other countries, and till some years back Chinese had a big problem with English, but now they are up. The new generation is able to converse in unaccented and clear English. We are running out of time. Our education system is archaic and inefficient. The teacher are least paid and infrastructure is terrible.

When we say we need regulations in the Private Education sector, we need to regulate the age at which the child can start and the fees structure. We can have slabs of fees, and the school has to comply to certain norms to demand the fees. At this stage it has become a LOOT and we the common man are succumbing to it.

Enjoyed listening to you on Mann Ki Baat. I wanted to draw your attention to a few things. As you are from Gujarat, you must be aware of Udgam School in Ahmedabad. Overnight they hiked the fees by 86%. 1 Lakh rupees for a Jr. KG admission. The majority of the tax payers are salaried class people. Can we regulate these private schools in some way, please?
