I lost my passport when I came to germany. therefore I went to indian embessy at frankfurt. The moment I entered in to embessy I was welcomed by a man aged 50-55 with his mouth Full of some "GUTKHA" or "Tambaku". He asked "haan bhai kya hua". I told about passport thing and i kept my bag in to the x-ray security scanner and he told "Iski jarurat nahi aa ja". From my point of view, it leaves really bad impression with this gutkha and breaching the security procedure. One must be presentable.:)

as an NRI who have worked and stayed in many countries, I can with confidence say that my experience with Indian Embassies is very poor. The staff at the embassy is extremely rude and corrupt, I have seen them misbehaving with the locals also.
They are always looking for some favors and bribes to get the work done....please investigate the amount of money the officials make in issuing the visas....

Saw a few videos on social sites about unskilled workers suffering in Saudi Arabia n stuck their. Indian embassy not helping them, their situation was miserable. Why such an apathy by Indian embassy. Can't they send these guys back home? Are they so weak abroad?

Embassies should be pro-active in contacting Indians when we land in a foreign land. There can be benches at major air ports where Indian could go and register when they step in foreign landThis way we will feel that someone is there to take care of us if any emergency arises.

i wanted to share my personal experience with Atlanta embassy in USA. i applied for PCC and Birth certificate in the embassy , after i did not get my passport and certificate in 14 days i tried calling them, firstly it is very rare that someone picks up the call and even after picking up the call they forward to someone where no one picks up the call or they say that they don't have any status about the application. i am still not sure in this digital age they speak like this

Embassies are often seemed to sight obsolete laws and regulations as pretext to not help Indian citizens in distress in a foreign country. In order to declare facts before the embassy in affidavit one of my friend was asked to take with him two witnesses on a foreign land ! This is the duty of embassy to find witnesses for it's citizens if required. Embassies should also try to solve most of the issues of NRI's through digital platform and reduce paper work as much as possible.

Please make existing websites more profesisonal. There should be no grammatical errors. Procedures to get things done for one purpose should be on one page. Right now, we have to click on so many links to know what to do. One one page it is written 2 copies of photo required, on some other page is written 3 copies of photo required. We do not know what to do often.

I got my OCI card within 2-months of application using online forms at the New York Consulate. Thanks to India for speeding up such permanent Visa procurement using online forms, interactions and submit procedures. I love Indian Consulate at New York.
