From 7th to 9th February the Ministry of External Affairs is organising the Conference of Heads of Mission, which would be addressed by the Prime Minister.

Inputs are required from our diaspora on the following issues:

(A) What additional services would you like the Indian Embassies to provide you?

(B) Tell us things that should be introduced in the Indian Embassies that enhance your connectivity with India.

( C ) What are the services that can be further improved at the Indian Embassy in your respective countries?

(D) Share your positive experiences at Embassies of other countries, be it in terms of services, experience, facilities etc.

BLS India ,company that provides indian visa to canadians is in really bad shape. Most of the time Website is down and cant get information.When we go to their office no one have a clue , almost all day is wasted just to apply. Staff is not trained properly most of the time they are rude with elderly people. when Visas were handled by VFS, things were really smooth with no problems. I have sent emails to Indian consulate regarding these problems, but didn't get any response

Problem is I have no experience with embassy. But I have a complain as I am from northeast. When tourist comes to northeast they come with big fear. but there is not a single tourist ever died or raped or probably looted or eaten alive or made donkey with black magic. Even a small incident is highlighted big in media and we loose tourist. Our embassy should be more pro in media management and alley fears among tourist. There will be incidents but they should promote and show tourist its totally

Passport renewal process is unnecessarily complex, has too much paperwork and unclear instructions. In contrast US passport renewal only requires 1 form, 1 document for proof of residence (not notarized) and one standard fees payable by personal check.

At the Embassy of India in Beijing during November 2013 Diwali event,the vendor served ALU PRAWNS in place of ALU MASALA. One of my friend went to an officer to escalate the issue to him and the reply from officer was quiet interesting and not up to the mark. My friend resisted with strong words and he was warned that Indian Embassy may screw him up to a level that he wont be able to leave China. Quiet shocking to me though not sure if govt feels the same and want to do something about it.

The officials in Indian embassies should be easily approachable n they should realize the fact that they r there for the help of Indians staying in diff countries as nri's.

Dubai,Nov 2010. My friend was cheated by a restaurant by paying lesser than agreed salary and they confiscated his passport. We approached Indian embassy and they did nothing and told us to settle matter with employer. Indian partner of the restaurant boasted of his connections with embassy officials. Finally immigration department of UAE rapped company officials and employer promptly gave us passport with tickets to India. We should be able to put these complaints directly to foreign ministry.

I post earlier regarding getting hard time to renew our passport as illegal immigrant. Can we get 10 year passport without any problem. ? Chicago embassy gave so hard time and if you give them money they will do it without any problem. There is so many people are having same problem. Please help us so we can get 10 year passport without any problem. We are illegal that doesn't mean you treat as criminal. We are Indian citizen !!!
