Municipal Corporation Dharamshala congratulates the citizens of Dharamshala for being selected in 23 fast track cities.

A special fast track has been provided to 23 high scoring cities of states/UTs to upgrade their proposal which are not covered in first twenty cities and submitted, it before 15th April 2016. The proposal which will achieve the benchmark set by the wining cities after evaluation by the panel of experts will become eligible for funding on accelerated basis in 2016-17.

To achieve the benchmark set by the MoUD and wining cities, wide range of citizen consultations/ engagements is prerequisite of the Project. In this regard Municipal Corporation Dharamshala appeal all the citizens to give their suggestions on Previous Proposal. Dharamshala Smart City Proposal and Comments received from MoUD are uploaded below.

The last date to submit your suggestions/ comments is 31st March, 2016.

Overall its a very promising and a wonderful proposal made by around 40 experts, support from various Departments converging for this project, done in an amazing way by reaching out to all most all of the residents. With a modest budget to the tune of 1500crs it will transform our city into a global hub, especially for tourism and to be replicated worldwide. (An IIF Initiative.)

4. Smart Urban Governance: IN any city it is a very important constituent. The proposal stresses on better interface between the public , the administration, the governments , single window systems, and grievance system. Which all will be the back bone of our smart city.

3. Climate change and disaster resilience: Being in seismic zone V, the city has challenge of providing safe buildings, a lot has to be learnt in this regard. To look at the global examples mentioned in our proposal of Rotterdam and Makati City seems very promising that we will be Global city no less than any other.

1.There should be cooler, dustbins and toilets on all public places and they should be maintained. 2.Traffic should be one way. 3.There should be a Museum. 4.There should be a rope way from bus stand to Kotwali bazaar. 5.Schools for the Handicapped should be better equipped. 6.One tree by one student should be practised to make this city a green city. 7.There is one park in KV dharamshala on Cantt road near Radhe Shaam and Kali Mata Mandir which can be improved and maintained.

This is a wonderful proposal, taking care of most of the priorities like : 1. GLobal Imprint: Promotion of our beloved city as a global destination is the need of the hour, with the vision 2025 it will be done in a very planned and ambitious manner.
