In the Round 1 of Smart City Challenge, Vadodara stood 81st among 91 cities which competed for top 20 positions. As the previous proposal lacks quantitative data, and fails to represent the citizen aspiration, it fetched a score of 44.53. The key areas of improvement are identified in the gap report attached. The previous proposal is also attached herewith for your perusal. Click here to read the report.

In the Round 2 of this challenge Vadodara Municipal Corporation has intensified the citizen engagement activities to ensure proactive involvement of key stakeholders. From the activities conducted till date, it can be inferred that the citizens envisage a progressive image of the city, keeping the cultural core intact.
To take this initiative further, we welcome your imperative inputs and innovative suggestions on improving the existing proposal. Click here to read the Smart City Proposal Round 2

For success of a Smart City, citizen active participation is most important aspect. The administration can provide state-of-the-art and intelligent infrastructure but using and maintaining it is citizen responsibility. I suggest creation of group of citizens responsible for creating awareness and usage/maintenance of smart infra. This will help smoother conceive, implement and maintain the smart infra.

A strong emphasis must be laid on a robust public transport system and encouragement to people to use public transport for daily commute rather than personal transport: 1. Well connected bus networks. Punctual, reliable and Women friendly. 2. App and GPS based bus tracking 3. Air-conditioned and premium-fare buses over select routes to encourage the affluent to use the bus instead of cars. 4. Dedicated bus lanes and bus roads. 5. Future planning for metro rail/monorail system.

Sir, We can supply 24 hour electricity and fresh drinking water by Desalination of water by external electric field. The electricity will be generated by separation of H+ ions and OH- ions by electric field and recombining these ions to form steam. This steam will rotate the turbine to generate electricity. We can also solve the problem of plastic pollution by synthesizing many bio-degradable polymers. But you have to support us financially .
