In the Round 1 of Smart City Challenge, Vadodara stood 81st among 91 cities which competed for top 20 positions. As the previous proposal lacks quantitative data, and fails to represent the citizen aspiration, it fetched a score of 44.53. The key areas of improvement are identified in the gap report attached. In the Round 2 of this challenge Vadodara Municipal Corporation has intensified the citizen engagement activities to ensure proactive involvement of key stakeholders. From the activities conducted till date, it can be inferred that the citizens envisage a progressive image of the city, keeping the cultural core intact.
