Bilaspur Smart City Talk

As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Urban Development for smart city challenge, the third Stakeholder/Citizen consultation meeting is being organized by Bilaspur Municipal Corporation on 1/11/2015. The meeting will start at 4:00pm at Lal Bahadur Shastri School, Dikshit Sabha Bhavan.

Discussion on the options of Pan city and Area Development projects will be carried out during the talk show.

The meeting will be headed by Member of Parliament (C.G.) Mr. Lakhan Lal Sahu, in the presence of Mayor Bilaspur Mr. Kishor Rai, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Ranu Sahu. Members of Laghu Udyog Sangh, Merchant Association, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and Lions Club will also be present in the talk show.

(8) Security - maximum installation of CCTV cameras in every part of city. Necessary Security criteria for private colonies, apartments and residencies,update criminal profile database, increase the number of police stations and cops . Fire fighters service, disaster management services highly required. Suggestions are worth less if it will not implemented without dedication and true spirit to make our BILASPUR a Smart city.

(7) Intelligent transport system - A Mobile app for Timing, tracking/spotting for smart buses and cabs by installing GPS system on it.Token or Card system for tickets ,CCTV camera required in every public transport vehicles and in every squares for surveillance of security and rules. Update the database for every vehicles number and owner information in case any body break the traffic rules Police can identify them using database by surveillance of CCTV cameras and fine them .

(5) Drainage and Waste management -A non operational Sewerage system already exists in city but still need many reform like no pump station made yet, it affects city roads very badly. For waste management required a eco-friendly waste recycling plant with dump yard, more and separate containers for dry and wet wastes in every area of the city with regular picking service , make aware citizen for keep separate the dry and wet waste.

(4) Power - Solar power is good option for lighten up the cities street poles, gov buildings, colonies and homes by using solar power cell with LED lights. Solar Water Heating system will reduce the electricity consumption gov try to aware people for it . Tax and cost relaxation should be given for set up solar power In homes by gov. Small scale Wind turbine system on outskirts of the city could be a better option.

(1) Public Transport - Need of better connectivity with other cities by Air transportation as well as by Road, Highly need of domestic Airport, Four lane road network, for inside city transportation need of smart buses with separate lane like BRTS lane, cabs(taxi), smart parking area(like underground parking), more traffic signal lights in squares, small squares are needed,many areas required one way, Strict traffic rules and fines, monthly awareness camps.
