Occurrence of devastating extreme rainfall / cloud burst events (about 310 mm rainfall on 16th June, 2013 in Kedarnath) in Uttarakhand, recently in Jammu & Kashmir over 400 mm rain from 4th to 7th September 2014 as well as the crippling flood havoc in Assam / Arunachal Pradesh in August 2014 (massive flooding by Subansiri and Jiadhol rivers) has brought to fore our pitiably poor preparedness for such disasters, and also the great urgency to evolve mitigating strategy for Himalayan river systems

Now one more out of the box idea,We all know that this drainage has water content in it. There is region big region desert region in rajasthan part of idea..Directing this drainage system towards that Desert area not only make the soil wet but after certain years it will surely make the underground water level to go high this thing has one more advantage to it. In northen india we have duststorm also known as "aandhi" this is nothing but loose soil coming from these deserted part of india.
