1) All airports in India and main railway stations should have Shop which should sell Indian Traditional items, including silk clothes.
2) e-commerce should also accommodate Indian traditional clothes and promote well.
3) Gifts from govt. to others (mainly foreigners) should have one silk item.
4) Silk clothing competition should be called for once in a yr and in this, all fashion designer from around the world should be invited and finally one contestant should be selected & rewarded.

If we have to increase the demand the first two things we should concentrate are 1)QUALITY & 2)Proper ADVERTISEMENTS through electronic and print media. Next rather to incline towards private or public sector we should PROMOTE THE CO-OPERATIVE SECTORS TO EXCEL in this FIELD. THE SILK PRODUCERS AND THE WEAVERS SHOULD JOIN HANDS TO MAKE SOME Integrated and STATE-OF-THE-ART co-operative industry in this field...

First of all we have to increase silk production in mass quantum.Apart from Bhagalpur and Karnataka we have to cultivate it on various states Specially Ruhelkhand,Bundelkhand,Vidharbh(Maharastra)where farmers conditions are critical due to improper rain.Gov. should encourage and facilitate farmer for sericulture .After bulk production we are in position to compete with China and other countries.Due to low price of silk domestic use increases aam aadmi can also wear silk and also enhance export.

i believe that the main reason for the decline of handloom industry and handloom taste among the indians is because of the advent of synthetic materials and their imports or domestic production. So basically we need to tackle it by constricting imports and maximize takes for such synthetic material and uplift handloom by state investing in branding of handloom, efficient production and marketing of it and reduced taxes and price as most of its demand has declined due to price constrains.
